Lovely old fashioned pub with old fashioned service. Food was fabulous, and the gluten free menu was pretty extensive. Sat by one of the cosy open fires and enjoyed it all immensely. The feta parcels were huge, so much so i couldn't do justice to the lambs liver, which was delicious, with glorious bacon, mash and a really superb gravy. I'm only sorry we were all too full to even look at the dessert menu. Will go back and leave room for pud next time.
My first dining experience here......interior is very nicely decorated and relaxed atmosphere, with open fire crackling away. Myself and my Fiancee joined at garlic bread with cheese and Bury black pudding fritters......both were extremely tasty and cooked beautifully. I had a slow cooked shoulder of lamb, which fell off the bone and tasted amazing. My fiancee had three sausage and mash, which again was very good indeed. Both of us had homemade apple crumble and custard for afters.......a delightful treat to end the meal. Highly recommended indeed......i shall look forward to returning.
